Tonight we attempted two icey delectables – lemon pear sorbet and raspberry banana peach frozen yogurt. We have moved into the eye-balling stage of measuring for these treats.
Our lemon sorbet is made of about 2 cups of Newman’s Own Lemonade, a shot of vodka, a 1/2 cup of natural pear juice, 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice and 1/4 cup honey. We threw it all in our countertop Cuisinart icecream maker (it was a gift – we try not to be spendthrifts). It was truly scrumptious – tart lemon followed by mellow pear.
Our frozen yogurt was put together using about a cup of red raspberry yogurt (whole milk), a shot of vodka, 1/4 cup honey, a coursely chopped ripe banana and a cup of coursely chopped canned peaches. We will be running it through ‘the machine’ tomorrow and will get back to you on the results.
